Introduction
Berkhamsted Community
Partnership
The Berkhamsted Community
Partnership (BCP) was formed following successfully receiving
funding from the Countryside Agency for a Market Town Healthcheck of
Berkhamsted in 2003. The ‘Healthcheck’ was a review of Berkhamsted,
which included widescale consultation with local people, to identify
key issues and actions needed to improve the town.
The Berkhamsted Community
Partnership is community based and driven, with a wide membership
bringing together the invaluable expertise and knowledge of a broad
range of individuals active within the community, including
representatives from: key voluntary and community organisations,
young people, the police, local businesses and schools, Dacorum
Borough Council and Berkhamsted Town Council.
The clear aim of the BCP
is to improve Berkhamsted for its residents and visitors.
With this aim in mind and on the basis of
the Market Town Healthcheck information, the BCP have identified and
are working on a variety of interesting and exciting projects for
improvement detailed in the BCP Project Plan. To find out more about
the projects, please see further details below.
Community participation and feedback is
essential to ensure that the needs of the community are met and that
the projects deliver these needs. A Project Group has been or is
being set up to take each of the projects forward.
Berkhamsted
Project Officer
Berkhamsted successfully received funding
from the Countryside Agency and Dacorum Borough Council, together
with support from the Berkhamsted Town Council, to recruit a Project Officer to assist in taking
forward the projects and co-ordinating the activities of the BCP.
If you are interested in joining the BCP,
or getting involved in any of the projects, or would like to let us
know your comments, please contact Graham Cox on the details set
