PICTURE BOOK BERKHAMSTED

There is a wide range of pictures available. These give a clear insight into Berkhamsted. Many of these have been compiled as a series related to particular themes. On behalf of the town, Berkhamsted Local History and Museum Society has produced an abbreviated but authoritative history of the castle.

On behalf of The Graham Greene Birthplace Trust Peter Such, a former Town Mayor, has prepared a series of views of particular relevance to Graham Greene (see below) accompanied by a short history. Two series of pictures relate to the plaques that have been placed on various buildings around the town. These are the Town Council's Heritage Walk and the Graham Greene Trail. Leaflets, on which each of these series has been based are available from the Town Council offices or the Library. A third series takes a stroll along the newly refurbished canal tow path.

Then there are community pictures. One series, currently in course of preparation, is 'Picture Book Berkhamsted'. This looks at Berkhamsted through the year. Other pictures depict various community activities: The Festival of Light; 'The Lions Community Market'; the Town Hall promotional site and the Graham Greene Birthplace Trust's own Annual Festival.

As these series become available they will be listed below with a short description of what you will find behind the links.
